Shear Genius + Project Runway = Fun!

Don't think that the finale viewing party was all the cross-reality-show fun we had last week! Laura K and I paid a visit to Project Runway season 2 designer Emmett McCarthy's Nolita boutique EMc2 on Thursday. While we were chatting, in walks Gail Soifer with Glenn Mitchell and her hubby Nick! The ladies posed with for pics with Emmett, wearing a couple of his designs.

I haven't seen what they've bought yet, but Laura K and I each bought a pair of shoes. (I was eyeballing one of those great purses too - hey, girls will be girls!)

Three Stylists Left!

In our first poll of the season, we asked who you thought would be the top three finalists. You chose Daniel, Glenn, and Nicole. One of them will indeed compete in the finale this Wednesday, August 27th - but will Nicole win? Or will Charlie or Dee take the prize?

BSG Interview with Glenn Mitchell

The lovely and talented Glenn Mitchell took some time to answer a few questions posed to her by BSG.

BSG: What a shock! Do you think you deserved to be cut in this challenge?

GM: Well I assume you have seen my exit interview by now, but just in case... No, I didn't feel like I should have been cut from the competition. During the judging process, they seemed to like my work more then others work on that particular day. I also felt like if the group as a whole didn't perform well, then maybe the restrictions placed on us were a bit too unrealistic. It takes me back to college, where if an entire class failed a test then the professor realized the format of the test was not what it should be and we usually got a "mulligan" or the test was just dumped all together. So if the is no winner how can there be a real loser?

Congratulations, Glenn!

Glenn, you created a hairstyle that not only was easy to style at home, it took your client less time and she was absolutely thrilled with the results! We know your fan club is pretty pleased, too.

TGIW

We love Wednesdays. Not only do we get another new episode of Shear Genius, but it also means the BSG party room will be open for business tonight beginning at 9:00 p.m. Come join us and snark away with SG fans across the globe.

Our photo of the day comes from Glenn Mitchell's MySpace page. That's Glenn and her hubby Nick sharing a bit of romance in the middle of Times Square. And who doesn't dream of a dramatic kiss in that spot?

Happy Wednesday all - hope to see you tonight!

Meet Glenn

GLENN - age 36
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Resides in Decatur, AL

Although Glenn entered college a chemical engineering major, it didn’t take long for her figure out that this wasn’t her true calling. At 23, she entered cosmetology school at a local community college and never looked back, opening her own salon – Red Jasper Spa in Decatur, AL as an Aveda Concept Salon. Glenn’s work has been showcased in multiple trade and consumer magazines, and she has even worked as a hairstylist at New York Fashion Week. For the last three years, Glenn has volunteered her time and talents to North Alabama’s “Mission: Makeover” program, giving well-deserving people within the community a new look.
